Wise words from our young patrons

What a joy to hear from some of our youngest patrons about their love of the Library. Willard Elementary School 2nd grade students were given an assignment to write a letter to the best business in River Forest and many of them chose us! We are so honored.

The Library strives to be a welcoming place for all ages and its especially wonderful to see children “grow up here.” We’ve had many patrons over the years who began coming to the Library as infants, made their way upstairs to the middle school/teen area and then continued to visit through their High School years. Often, they’ll come back in the summer when home from college, and perhaps later in life they will bring their own children here.

Our letter writers are regular visitors to the Children’s Room, often participating in story times, crafting programs, musical events, and of course, checking out books. Once they start Middle School in 5th Grade, they’ll be able to head upstairs to our dedicated teen area to hang out, do homework, explore the middle school and teen collection, as well as participate in our special programs developed just for tweens and teens. We hope they will keep coming, through high school and beyond. Our goal of providing “life-long learning” means there’s something for everyone at all stages of life.

Enjoy these wonderful words from Beatrix and Jonah. We hope you’ll keep coming to the Library for many more years. We’re excited to watch you grow up with us!
